Crockett's PAC Published One List on Monday. The Record Contains Three of It.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett's leadership PAC posted an endorsement slate on Monday, Sept. 28, and left the party's Senate nominee, state Rep. James Talarico, off it. That much every newsroom in the corpus states, and no newsroom disputes. What the record cannot hold still is the size of the thing it agrees about. Five outlets print the digit 14 — but two of them scope it to Monday's addition and three to the post itself. One outlet says the list held 24. And a sixth — the only outlet in the corpus that itemized the slate by office — says 14 is the count of Texas House races alone, with two congressional contests, one Senate race, and an unnumbered quantity of county races riding on top of it. Four wordings for the same empty slot, all printed verbatim above. The Post's "left off" is a ledger entry; The Hill's "leaves … off" is a happening; NOTUS and The Texan file it as a boundary with "Excludes." Only "Snubs" carries a mind in it — an exclusion is a decision, a snub is a decision with malice — and the Caller's headline then appends the verdict "Snubs" was reaching for. The corpus contains Crockett's own stated rationale and Talarico's own July defense; no sentence in it supports "snubbed" as a finding. The desk files each word where its outlet put it: a choice, graded by nobody here.

Newsweek splits the difference with the corpus's one sentence of desk-voiced assessment — "But she has failed to explicitly endorse Talarico." — and the Houston Chronicle files a shopping list. NOTUS: "I want to push back on the idea that Congresswoman Crockett hasn't been supportive, because literally the morning after the primary she released a statement wholeheartedly endorsing the whole Democratic ticket here in Texas," Talarico said on a Houston radio show in July. Talarico's own defense of Crockett — from July, before Monday existed — is carried by exactly three of the ten frozen outlets: NOTUS, Newsweek, and the Washington Post.
