Darline Graham secured the Republican nomination in South Carolina's special U.S. Senate primary runoff on Tuesday, defeating U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman.

Graham, a political newcomer, was appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to temporarily fill the seat following the sudden death of her brother, Lindsey Graham.

Endorsed and heavily supported by President Donald Trump, Graham received a late $830,000 campaign boost from the super PAC MAGA Inc.

Throughout her campaign, Graham emphasized her alignment with Trump's policy agenda, despite facing criticism over her lack of political and foreign policy experience.

Graham will advance to the November general election to face Democratic nominee Annie Andrews.
