Media proves rock bottom has basement with hatchet job of Natalie Harp. By Joe Concha. Published August 22, 2026 6:00am ET. Washington Examiner, In Focus.

Deck: Attacks on Trump aide Natalie Harp reveal glaring media double standards ignored during Ferial Govashiri's Obama White House days.

Her name is Ferial Govashiri, the chief of staff to the chief content officer at Netflix. Previous jobs include personal secretary and gatekeeper to former President Barack Obama for three years and working in the department of scheduling during Obama's senatorial campaign years prior, having signed on as an unpaid volunteer.

This biography is both admirable and normal. Admirable in terms of Govashiri starting out as an unpaid volunteer just to have the opportunity to work with Obama and the fact that she worked her way up the chain to serve as the president's personal secretary.

As a reward for years of hard work and loyalty, Govashiri got what is likely a dream job at Netflix, first working for CCO Ted Sarandos, who raised and bundled more than $500,000 for Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. And, for your information, the Obamas signed a lucrative eight-figure deal with Netflix not long after leaving the White House, so this isn't exactly a difficult dot to connect.
