White House Correspondent Says Trump's Doting Assistant Natalie Harp Is Like His 'Binky' amid Scrutiny Over Their Relationship
New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman described White House aide Natalie Harp as a 'binky' amid renewed scrutiny over her role in President Donald Trump's administration. Haberman made the comparison during an appearance on MS NOW on Sunday, Aug. 16. The mention came up when Haberman was speaking about the aides chosen to accompany the president as he secretly switched planes en route from Turkey in July. 'I can guess why Natalie Harp and Walt Nauta and Dan Scavino were with him,' Haberman, 52, said. 'Natalie Harp, because she is sort of his binky, for lack of a better way of putting it, a comfort blanket.' In June's Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, Haberman and Jonathan Swan reported that Harp leaves the president private notes in 'personal spaces.' According to the book, one of the 'adoring letters' that Harp 'left in his personal spaces' during Trump's time out of power included the line 'you are all that matters to me.'
