Sen. Jon Ossoff Publicly Questions Trump's Closeness with Much-Younger Aide Natalie Harp

People · back to the audit
Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff is scrutinizing President Trump's closeness with one of his aides. During a rally on Sunday, Aug. 16, the Democratic senator, 39, addressed the president's relationship with 35-year-old aide Natalie Harp, who has appeared to have grown especially close to Trump, 80. Ossoff alleged that Trump's interest in his aide was greater than his interest in his role as president. 'He doesn't want to do the job,' Ossoff claimed during a campaign speech. 'He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.' The New York Times reported in 2024 that Harp has written several devotional letters to Trump — whom she called her 'Guardian and Protector in this Life' — with some reading, 'You are all that matters to me' and 'I want to bring you joy.' The Independent reported that Harp was one of the few individuals Trump brought with him as he snuck unto a military jet to depart Turkey while Air Force One was believed to be under Iranian threat earlier this summer.
