Serious questions raised over Zambia's security operations following armed raid at presidential candidate's home
Serious questions are mounting over the conduct of Zambia's security services following an armed operation at the Kabulonga residence of Presidential Candidate Hon. Brian Mundubile, amid reports of gunfire, injuries, missing property and uncertainty over the whereabouts and condition of members of his political and security team. The party has described the incident at Mundubile's residence as an armed, military-style operation and is demanding that the Government disclose which security agencies participated, who commanded the operation and under whose authority it was carried out. The party called for an independent investigation and a full public accounting for everyone who was present or removed from the residence. Armed personnel allegedly from Zambia Army and Police descended on the residence, fired gunshots, and reportedly left the house ransacked with missing property. Former MP Mutotwe Kafwaya was reportedly shot twice during the operation.
