HH Leads Mundubile in Latest Results

United Party for National Development -UPND- Presidential Candidate in the 2026 General Election HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has polled 243,509 votes in 27 constituencies announced so far ,out of the 226 .

And National Restoration Party for Unity and Progress-NRPUP Presidential Candidate BRIAN MUNDUBILE has polled 161,883 votes in the 27 constituencies announced so far.

Eleven other candidates, including independent candidate GIVEN KATUTA, who is the only female presidential candidate in the race, are contesting the 2026 General Election.

The latest results were announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ- Commissioners and consolidated by ECZ Chairperson MWANGALA ZALOUMIS this afternoon at the National Election Results Centre in Lusaka.

The latest announcement means the Commission is yet to announce results from the remaining 199 constituencies.

The ECZ is scheduled to announce another set of results at 21-hours this evening.

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO says results announced at the National Election Results Centre do not require approval from political stakeholders.

Mr. KASARO says this is because political parties have agents at all polling stations who participate in the verification process before results are transmitted to the Constituency Totalling Centre and later to the National Election Results Centre.

Mr. KASARO says the Commission is mandated by law to announce results at the National Election Results Centre, as the results have already been verified by stakeholders at the point of declaration.

Mr. KASARO said this in response to Tonse Alliance representative CELESTINE MKANDILA, who interjected the announcement of results to question why the Commission was announcing results without engaging his party.
