Trump Majorly Flips Out as Judges Rule His Ballroom Is Illegal

A federal appeals court panel determined that President Trump must cease aboveground construction on his White House ballroom, prompting an angry response from the administration. A 2-1 D.C. Circuit Court decision concluded that Trump's administration must obtain Congressional approval for the construction project. The majority opinion noted that "Congress has the exclusive authority to regulate the construction and demolition of White House structures" and that the administration had not demonstrated unfettered executive authority over such modifications. On the Supreme Court appeal, Trump stated: "I will immediately appeal the decision to the Supreme Court." Regarding the national security argument, Trump declared: "The Military and Secret Service are viewing this horrendous, politically motivated, and unlawful ruling as a National Security threat to our Nation."
