Karoline Leavitt's shocking departure from the White House to spend more time with her kids comes shortly after she spoke of the president "empowering" young mothers to have both a career and family. Leavitt, a 28-year-old mother of two, appeared to admit that it was more difficult than she'd previously let on in a statement explaining her decision on Wednesday. After giving birth to her daughter in May, she said, she realized that she could not "be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary." Trump announced via Truth Social that Leavitt would leave her role at the end of the month "so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!" He said she would now be moving into a new role as an "outside advisor" to "work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections."
