Trump approval rating falls to new low in latest poll

USA Today Network (El Paso Times) · back to the audit
President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to a new low, with a new poll showing just 1 in 3 Americans approve of the job he is doing. An Economist/YouGov poll released Aug. 11 found that 33% of Americans approve of Trump's job performance, a 3-percentage-point drop from the previous week, reported USA TODAY. The latest figure marks Trump's lowest approval rating in YouGov polling since he returned to the White House in 2025. The Economist/YouGov poll was conducted Aug. 7-10 among 1,589 U.S. adults. The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3.2 percentage points. The economy continues to weigh on Trump's approval numbers, as it has in several recent polls. The Economist/YouGov poll found that just 22% of Americans rate the economy as excellent or good, while only 14% say economic conditions are improving. Meanwhile, more than half of Americans - 56% - believe the economy is getting worse. While individual polls vary, major polling averages continue to show Trump in negative territory overall: RealClearPolitics (Aug. 11): 39.2% approve, 58.6% disapprove; New York Times (Aug. 11): 37% approve, 59% disapprove; Silver Bulletin (Aug. 11): 38.1% approve, 58.5% disapprove.
