President Donald Trump won't like his latest poll numbers. A new Economist/YouGov poll released Tuesday shows that Trump's approval rating has dropped to 33%, that's down from 34% last month. Nearly two-thirds of Americans express disapproval of his job performance. The survey, conducted Aug. 7-10 among 1,589 U.S. adult citizens, reveals half of all respondents said they 'strongly disapprove' of Trump's performance, while just 17% said they 'strongly approve.' The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points, adjusted for weighting. Among Republicans, 79% approve of Trump, including 48% who strongly approve. Democratic approval stands at just 4%. Independents lean heavily negative, with 71% disapproving. Men approve at 37% compared to 29% of women. Voters 65 and older show the highest approval at 40%, while those aged 30-44 register the lowest at 29%. White respondents approve at 39%, Hispanic respondents at 27%, and Black respondents at 13%. Among those who voted for Trump in 2024, 77% approve of his current job performance, while 21% disapprove, including 9% who strongly disapprove.
