Occupiers destroy WHO warehouse in Dnipro; nearly 200 pallets of medical supplies burned

The army of the aggressor country, russia, attacked a World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse in Dnipro. As a result of the strike, the facility was completely destroyed, according to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

According to him, the occupiers struck the WHO warehouse last Friday, August 7. On the day of the attack, organization staff and drivers who were evacuating cargo were present at the warehouse.

They managed to remove 130 of approximately 300 pallets containing medical supplies and leave the facility before the occupiers' strike.

"The warehouse held humanitarian medical supplies intended for frontline health facilities — primarily WHO emergency health supplies," Ghebreyesus emphasized.

There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the shelling.

The WHO Director-General called for an end to attacks on healthcare facilities, as this violates the rules of war. He did not specify which country was responsible for the attack on the warehouse in Dnipro.

The WHO's Ukrainian office noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the organization has confirmed 3,148 attacks on healthcare facilities in Ukraine. These attacks have killed 240 people and injured 1,055.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 25 of this year, the russian military launched a missile strike on a United Nations World Food Programme warehouse located on the outskirts of Dnipro. As a result of the attack, food aid intended for 130,000 people was destroyed.
