Ukrainian forces target Russian oil refinery in Tatarstan as attacks reported in occupied Crimea, Donetsk Oblast

Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian oil refinery in Tatarstan as a blackout took place in occupied Simferopol and fires broke out in Donetsk Oblast amid overnight attacks on Aug. 10, monitoring channels reported.

Eyewitnesses posted footage of drones flying over the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan as an oil refinery was targeted by Ukrainian forces, according to Telegram channel Supernova Plus.

In Crimea's Simferopol, parts of the city were temporarily left without power after explosions and gunfire were heard amid a drone attack, pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported, citing local residents.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces targeted energy infrastructure in occupied Donetsk Oblast, and a fire broke out at a shopping center in the city of Makiivka, according to monitoring channel Exilenova Plus.

The reports could not be immediately verified by the Kyiv Independent.

Ukraine regularly strikes military infrastructure deep within Russia and the occupied territories in an effort to diminish Moscow's ability to continue waging its war.

On the night of Aug. 8, Ukrainian forces struck an S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile launch pad in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, hours after it was used to fire missiles at Ukraine, Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert Brovdi "Madyar" announced.

Early on Aug. 8, Ukraine struck an oil refinery in Samara Oblast and another in southern Russia's Krasnodar Krai, monitoring channels reported.
