President Donald Trump phoned Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) to let him know that "things aren't looking good" in his reelection bid following domestic violence accusations, Axios reported Monday.

Since the allegations against Miller surfaced, some GOP senators have called for Miller to resign. No House Republicans have urged him to step aside.

He repeatedly told Miller that his reelection would be difficult and that "things aren't looking good," according to the insiders. Miller reportedly told Trump he's staying in the race.

The embattled Republican would have to withdraw before Wednesday to facilitate a special election to replace him on the ballot, according to Axios.

Miller faces Democrat Brian Poindexter in the general election.
