Trump tells Ohio Rep. Max Miller his candidacy is in trouble amid accusations of domestic abuse

Axios (via Yahoo News syndication) · back to the audit
President Trump reportedly phoned Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio on Monday and told him that "things aren't looking good" for his reelection campaign amid allegations that he assaulted his ex-wife and child, according to Axios.
Trump's call came just two days before a key deadline to replace Miller on the midterm ballot.
If Miller withdraws by Wednesday, the GOP can trigger a special election for a new nominee.
After Aug. 10, however, Miller cannot be replaced -- even if he ends up dropping out later.
With their narrow 218 to 215 majority in the House, Republicans can't afford to lose more than two seats in November.
