Trump warns Ohio House rep accused of abuse against reelection run

The Independent (UK) · back to the audit
Republican Rep. Max Miller, who is facing pressure to resign amid accusations that he abused his ex-wife and toddler daughter, reportedly asked President Donald Trump, Monday, for his public support -- which has yet to materialize.
Instead, the president expressed concern that Miller, 37, cannot maintain his seat in the House of Representatives with accusations stacked against him and more Republicans calling on Miller to withdraw and resign, Miller told the Wall Street Journal.
"He kept on reiterating it's going to be tough, and it's going to be a really hard one for you," Miller said of Trump's remarks in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
Miller has until Wednesday to withdraw from the race so a special primary could be called to replace him.
"I know Max, he's a good person -- I mean I always thought he was a very good person. And I'm going to let the families figure that out," Trump said. "It's accusations, and I'm going to let them figure that out."
