Rep. Max Miller under investigation for abuse allegations

Ohio Congressman Max Miller is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for allegations of domestic abuse and drug use, the committee chairman announced Tuesday.
Miller faces abuse allegations involving his ex-wife, who is the daughter of fellow Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, and his own daughter.
"The Committee, pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a), is reviewing allegations that Representative Max Miller may have engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use in violation of the Code of Official Conduct or any other applicable standard of conduct," the committee announced Tuesday.
President Donald Trump came to Miller's defense of abuse allegations against the Republican representative, saying he is a "good person."
"He's a good person. I always thought he's a very good person. I'm going to let the families figure that out ... but it's accusations, and I'm going to let them figure that out," Trump said.
"I think the president is torn. He's not stepping in until due process is served, until allegations are proven out," McDaniel told NewsNation's "Morning in America." "But if these allegations are true, absolutely he should be stepping aside; there's no question."
Miller later issued the following statement on his X account:
"In light of all the renewed interest in my family affairs I am going to file my own paperwork for an ethics investigation into myself to clear my name from these horrific attacks on myself and family. I have absolutely nothing to hide. We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detail examination. The accusations continue to change, but my facts stay the same. I am looking forward to my colleagues reading everything for themselves.
