GOP Senators Call on House Republican to Step Down: 'He Should Quit'. A handful of Republican senators lent support to Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) on Monday by calling on the senator's former son-in-law to quit the House of Representatives. Moreno's daughter, Emily Moreno, alleges that her ex-husband. Rep. On Monday, Politico caught up with some GOP senators who said Miller, who is set to square off against Democratic union worker Brian Pointdexter, should step aside. 'I don't know [Miller]. I haven't read a whole lot about him, but if [Moreno] thinks he ought to resign, I'm supportive of that,' Sen. Shelley Moore Capito R-WV) told Politico. 'The accusations are very serious, and if there is truth to them, I am one who says that our elected officials need to be held to high standards,' added Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). 'And certainly, when it comes to allegations of domestic abuse, child abuse, that's not what we want in our lawmakers.' Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) was more blunt and to the point. 'He should resign,' Marshall said. 'He should quit.' On Monday night, Miller quote-tweeted Politico's Mia McCarthy, who co-wrote the piece. Miller singled out Capito. He began by tagging her and saying, 'here's the facts.' '1. Every accusation that has been thrown my way has been found unsubstantiated by the court system as well as mine and my ex-wife's court appointed mediator (who is a psychologist and mandatory reporter),' he wrote. 'Let me know if you want me to read the rest of the files to you.' Despite the '1' in his post suggesting a list of sorts was forthcoming, Miller did not subsequently add to the post. On Monday night, Axios reported that President Donald Trump had phoned Miller and said that 'things are not looking good,' and repeatedly expressed doubt about Miller's chances of winning in November.
