GOP Rep Max Miller pushes back against abuse allegations: 'I have nothing to hide'

Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, went live on X on Sunday morning, denying allegations from his ex-wife that he abused her and their daughter. Miller claimed his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, has documented mental health circumstances that might have led to her allegations after their public divorce.

Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio conducted a 17-minute livestream on X denying allegations from his ex-wife Emily Moreno (daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno) that he abused her and their daughter. Miller stated: "I have nothing to hide" and "No court or agency has even substantiated any allegation." He released documentation via Dropbox and addressed specific allegations: Regarding a scalding water incident, Miller characterized it as "horseplay in our kitchen" involving tap water from a sink sprayer, not boiling water. On claims he held a gun to her head, Miller noted no criminal charges were filed and claimed she invited him for dinner two days later. Concerning their daughter's injuries, Miller stated child welfare investigations found allegations "unsubstantiated" in March 2025 and April 2026. Emily Moreno's spokesman called Miller's statements "bizarre and lie-filled" and emphasized "a documented trove of evidence" of violent behavior. The controversy has made Miller vulnerable in Ohio's 7th Congressional District, where he won with just 51% in 2024. Democrats are targeting the seat. Sen. Moreno publicly called for his resignation, stating Miller "needs serious psychological help" and poses a danger to his family.
