House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., issued a stark warning after a trio of far-left candidates prevailed in New York's primaries, saying communism is now "on our own shores."

"It is a very serious time. Every American needs to wake up and understand the threat," Johnson said at a news conference.

"The Marxists have nominated some of the most radical candidates to ever run for office, and they're running for Congress," he said.

"There are mini Mamdanis popping up all around the country. It is a dangerous thing...We're in a fight right now to save the Republic."
