Report: Musk Plans Massive Spending Push in Midterms
Tech mogul Elon Musk plans to spend big to boost GOP voter turnout during the 2026 midterm elections, Axios reported.
Musk is bringing back his super PAC, America PAC, which spent more than $260 million on President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
The PAC will focus on door-knocking, digital advertising, and direct mail aimed at getting out the vote from conservatives, targeting voters who typically don't vote in midterm elections, sources told Axios.
Representatives for Musk declined to tell Axios how much he plans to spend.
"America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country," James Blair, a senior political adviser to Trump, told Axios.
"We will again outsmart our opponents and ruthlessly execute our mission for the GOP between now and Election Day," Blair added.
Republican super PACs and committees have a $300 million advantage over Democrats, while Trump's super PAC MAGA Inc. has $400 million to spend, Axios reported.
America PAC said it plans to coordinate with other Republican PACs, allowing them to focus on TV advertising, according to Axios.
"The president's political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we're excited to again be part of the team," America PAC spokesperson Andrew Romeo told Axios.
