Megadonor Offers Trump $250M to Run for Third Term

President Donald Trump's megadonor Miriam Adelson agreed to donate a quarter-billion dollars to his campaign if he decides to run for an unconstitutional third term in office.

Trump and his supporters have repeatedly floated the idea, despite the 22nd Amendment which states: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice." At a White House Hanukkah reception Tuesday night, Adelson took the stage, mentioning attorney Alan Dershowitz. The crowd erupted into chants of "four more years." The president basked in chants of 'four more years' at a White House reception.

Adelson, 80, then encouraged Trump to run for a third term in 2028, citing attorney Alan Dershowitz. She told Trump: 'I said, "Alan, I agree with you. We can do it!" Think about it.'

Trump told the crowd: 'She said, "Think about it, I'll give you another $250 million."' Adelson then agreed: 'I will.'

Miriam and her late husband, casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, have been among Trump's biggest supporters and donors over the years. Miriam Adelson donated more than $100 million to his 2024 campaign.

Dershowitz met with Trump earlier in the week in the Oval Office where he handed the president a draft copy of his book 'Could President Trump Constitutionally Serve A Third Term?' and told him the Constitution wasn't clear on a third term.

Fox News host Mark Levin also spoke at the event. He told the crowd: 'Now he's the first Jewish president to serve two not consecutive presidencies,' hinting at a supposed justification that the amendment only prohibits two consecutive terms.
