Biden tapes, released after legal battle, include references to notes containing classified material
Roughly 70 hours of audio recordings were cited in a 2024 special counsel's report, which said Biden kept volumes of notes at his home that included classified information.
The recordings were released after a two-year court battle by the Oversight Project, a conservative nonprofit that says its goal is to "expose and root out corruption in government."
No classified material was ever alleged to be in the published book.
But Biden's own lawyers joined the legal case and prevented disclosure, until a federal appeals court ruled against Biden on July 20.
