Biden, now 83, is heard at one point warning his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, that material he was discussing might be classified.

The nearly 70 hours of recordings, released Monday evening by the Oversight Project, a conservative watchdog group, were cited in former special counsel Robert Hur's 2024 report.

Biden's lawyers sought to block the disclosure, but the former president abandoned the effort after a divided federal appeals court ruled against him on July 20.
