Trump warns Houthis after shipping blockade threat: 'We take care of things'

Fox News · back to the audit
President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that the United States would hold Iran responsible for any future Houthi attacks on Saudi shipping, threatening major military punishment after the Iran-backed militants struck two Saudi vessels, including an oil tanker now leaking crude into the Red Sea. Trump said the Houthis had acted very responsibly during the recent conflict with Iran but warned that if they attacked again, the U.S. will hold Iran responsible because the Houthis are a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran. Trump said the U.S. would take care of things if the Houthis attempted to blockade Saudi shipping. Trump's escalating warnings come after Axios reported Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sought and received Trump's approval before launching strikes on Houthi targets, including Sanaa International Airport.
