As war expands, Trump insists US is winning the 'skirmish' with Iran

'I CALL IT A SKIRMISH': In remarks at a political event at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, last night, President Donald Trump continued to claim victory in the war with Iran, even as Tehran defied his latest threat of more U.S. attacks on bridges and power plants if Iran continued to attack ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz.

"I call it a skirmish. This is, with this skirmish we have with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I call it that," Trump said. "Because, let me tell you, they're getting hit so hard and they want to make a deal. But I say they're not ready to make a deal. Because every time they make a deal, they want to change it and everything. They're not ready. They'll be ready very soon."

Last night, the U.S. Central Command announced the 12th consecutive day of strikes was completed against Iranian targets, including maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets, in the effort to "further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels."
