New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he would consider ordering the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he travels to New York for the United Nations General Assembly this fall, citing the International Criminal Court's 2024 arrest warrant against the Israeli leader.

During an appearance on the New York Times podcast The Interview, Mamdani stated: 'I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,' referring to the Netherlands, where the ICC is based.

'We're not talking about a personal assessment of Benjamin Netanyahu. We're talking about the International Criminal Court and the fact that they have a warrant out for this prime minister's arrest.'

The Trump administration continues opposing the ICC, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently criticizing it as a 'global tribunal staffed by unelected globalist bureaucrats.'
